Japan to Donate up to $14 Million to Develop Sihanoukville Autonomous Port

Sihanoukville: The Japanese Government will provide $13.9 million in grant aid to Cambodia for the development of the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port in Preah Sihanouk province.

According to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the aid extension document will be signed on 16 of December by Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia Mikami Masahiro.

The grant will be used to implement the mobile harbour crane at the port, which will be under the Economic and Social Development Project for strengthening the bilateral cooperation of the two countries.

At the JICA Cambodia Office, on Tuesday, the Japanese government provided $12.2 million assistance to install port electronic data interchange (Port EDI) at two ports –Phnom Penh Autonomous Port and Sihanoukville Autonomous Port.
